The Food Forest Project
The health and wellbeing benefits instilled by being in natural spaces is huge for both body and mind. The Food Forest projects are healing spaces of harmony and peace. Communities can forage for their own food, or sit and be mindful in a safe environment away from the stresses and demands of modern life.
Worthington Woods Community Food Forest based in Wedmore, was their 3rd food forest project. This is a two acre plot providing much needed biodiversity and a natural space for our community.
To support TFFP memberships start from £3.50pm or simply make a donation, and they'll put your money towards anything from organic seeds to buying land!

Wedmore Village Farm
Wedmore Village Farm is a socially and environmentally conscious group of community organisations working together on one site.
They run services that help our local community, such as a Care Farm scheme helping adults with learning difficulties, and working with organisations such as Somewhere House who support people convalescing from addiction issues. Also, they have Men’s Shed working on the farm to address social isolation and mental health issues in men. Plus the Food Forest Project are there growing free organic food for our local food banks!

Isle of Wedmore
Wedmore has been traced back to the Iron Age and Roman periods. In Saxon times it lay at the heart of a large Royal estate.
Our village combines lovely English cottages and grand houses from the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries, and there are many excellent examples of Georgian and Victorian styles.
Recently, Wedmore was labbled the poshest village by Somerset Live due to its average house price of £571,515.
Wedmore is situated on raised ground, in the Somerset Levels between the River Axe and River Brue, often called the Isle of Wedmore, providing a fantastic range of wildlife and bird watching opportunities – as well as miles of peaceful roads and tracks for cycling or walking.
The Mendip Hills are a few miles to the north, another excellent place to walk or ride, and officially designated as an area of outstanding beauty.
St Marys is our very lovely fifteenth century church at the centre of our village. We also have: The Wedmore Village Hall, Isle of Wedmore Golf Club, Wedmore Tennis Club, Isle of Wedmore Bolws Club, and the Wedmore Cricket Ground.
Bristol is about 20 miles to the north. Glastonbury is 9 miles to the south. The City of Wells is 8 miles away to the east. Cheddar Gorge is up the road, 3 miles north.
